Penelope Clement started painting in the mid 70’s in response to a ‘call’ to explore her creativity. She hadn’t considered herself an artist but her heart said “Give it a try and see how far it will lead you.” It’s been an extraordinary adventure which has led her to obtain a studio, 100+ completed paintings, completion of two tarot decks and a third in the works.

In 1992 Penelope joined the Matrix Arts Organization and was a member for 12 years serving as President for one term and Chairperson of the Board for another term. It was during this time that she was asked to host and teach The Artist Way Workshops, facilitating Julia Cameron’s famous method of getting in touch with one’s creativity.  She still leads these workshops with her co-facilitator Ellen Springwind.

After several years of inspiring others to explore their inner-artist Penelope answered a second ‘call’ to becoming an interfaith minister. She completed her seminary work and was ordained in New York City in 2003. She began the Church of Spiritual Creativity in 2006, providing services quarterly, engendering people’s highest expressions of creativity in a spiritual setting.

Phone 916-224-3261. The Gallery is open Wed - Sat from 12 - 6 pm. Not all pieces of the original art are on display so please call to request viewing of specific items.
